Geeks On Call is looking for Field Service Engineers who are skilled IT professionals with good customer service skills. You, as a Geeks On Call Field Service Engineer, will be interacting with our customers in their homes and places of business. You will help us build a loyal customer base by providing exceptional on-site technical support and service to our many small business, home office, and residential customers in your area. You will be empowered to establish strong relationships with them, to become their trusted advisor, consultant, and personal IT Department. As a Geeks On Call Field Service Engineer you will be competitively compensated for work orders done under the Geeks on Call banner.

 
Essential Knowledge and Responsibilities:
(List is representative but not necessarily all-inclusive. Other duties may be assigned as needed.)
 
Knowledge of PC hardware, software, and operating systems
  • Ability to determine hardware, software and system functional specifications
  • Responsibility for documenting, analyzing, and testing systems
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair
  • Ability to perform wireless network installation, security and maintenance
  • Proficiency with Windows security issues and solutions
  • Virus, spyware, and adware detection and removal skills
  • Solid communications skills (to consult with customers)
  • Dedication to customer satisfaction 

Qualifications:

  • Education and/or Experience
  • Associate’s degree in IT (AA) or equivalent from two-year college; or
  • Two to five years of related experience and/or training; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A+ certification is required. Additional certifications are preferred.

 Preferences (not required, but beneficial)

  • MCSE certification
  • MAC experience
  • Basic web development skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications; Ability to:
    • Read, analyze and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
    • Write invoices and business correspondence
    • Bilingual skills welcome

Ability to:

  • Compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Analyze sales and profit results
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a range of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
     
  • While performing the duties of the Field Service Engineer, the employee is exposed to an outdoor environment while commuting. The employee will be required to routinely drive and maintain a valid state driver’s license at all times.

A clean driving record is required.
